I continue with the series of post talking about Development and tools, and this is time for Python!!!
Python is a general purpose, high level programing language.
Python claims to combine remarkable power with very clear syntax, and its standard library is large and comprehensive, a thing that make also python different is the use of identation for block delimiters, making this a really pretty code to read.
Python supports multiple programming paradigms not only object oriented programming but imperative, functional programming, etc.
Python was started in December 1989 by Guido van Rossum (by the way he’s Dutch, from Netherlands where I live now 😉 ).
Python 2.0 was released in October 2000 with many major features including a full garbage collector and support for unicode.
Python 3.0 was released in December 2008, and ii’ts backwards-incomaptible, but many of its major features have been backported to the backwards-compatible Python 2.6 and 2.7.
Python is managed by the Python Software Foundation (PSF), which is a non-profit organization devoted to this programming language and was created in 2001.
Python is completely free software under Python Software Foundation License, which is a permissive free software license and fully compatible with GNU GPL.
And that’s all, see u my friends!!
